    A Message from the Founder

    By the end of 2024, we have installed a total of 300 SUNDA.

    As more communities come to rely on our system, we feel an even greater sense of responsibility, knowing that SUNDA is becoming a key part of local infrastructure. Looking ahead, SUNDA will play an essential role not just in Uganda, but across Africa’s water infrastructure. While we are encouraged by the growing expectations, we also recognize the need to continuously provide stable services—and there are still many technical challenges to overcome to reach that level.

    Since 2018, we’ve steadily worked through a range of obstacles, one step at a time, and we’re beginning to see real results. Even the once-difficult collaboration between Ugandan and Japanese engineers is now working smoothly. From here, it’s time to accelerate toward wider expansion.

    This is not an easy mission—but I believe it’s the kind of work that can leave a lasting mark on history.


    Together, let’s build and grow the SUNDA system by harnessing the strengths of both Uganda and Japan, and help shape a better future for Africa.

      • Can non-Japanese nationals apply?

      Yes, applications are welcome from anyone, regardless of nationality.
    • I currently live outside Japan. Can I still apply?
      Interviews are mainly online, so overseas applicants are welcome. We are currently looking for individuals able to work in Japan or on long-term assignments in Uganda.
    • Where is the workplace located?
      While long-term assignments or stays in Uganda are required, those who prefer Japan or other countries as their base can work primarily remotely. However, occasional trips to partner tech companies in Kyoto or Osaka may be necessary.
    • Is there an age limit for applicants?
      There are no specific restrictions.
    • Is it possible to have a side job while working at SUNDA?
      It may be possible depending on the situation. Please feel free to discuss with us.
